The 2017 Relay for Life (RFL) was held from Saturday the 30th of September to Sunday 1st of October.
The Secretary Miriam Gachago was invited to be a member of the organizing committee. Tumaini was determined to make a significant contribution to the success of the event. The event was very well attended and there was a rich diversity in activities for all age groups. Tumaini Cancer Support Organization sponsored two teams. Tumaini4cancer Team comprised mainly of Tumaini members supported by their spouses. They managed to raise Ksh.252, 600 through personal and corporate contributions as well as sale of relay merchandise. The team Captain was Irene Gichora.
The other team was Cancer Busters which consisted of youthful Family members and their Friends. They managed to raise Ksh.103,000. The team captain was Muthoni Muchai. We thank all our friends and family who participated in all ways. Tumaini Cancer Support sponsored the snacks for the participants of the two teams as well as the décor for the teams’ tent.
