At PCEA St. Ninian’s

At PCEA St. Ninian’s

Members of Tumaini visited St. Ninian’s PCEA Church in Nakuru.

Cancer awareness talks were given in two services and breast cancer screening done for 76 women. The church has some experiences of members who have successfully gone through cancer treatment, others who are currently undergoing treatment and others who have gone to be with the Lord. They have been praying against cancer. The members were therefore touched by the Tumaini gesture. It was a very successful day and the members were very pleased with the partnership.

It was interesting to watch the reactions of the women as they considered whether or not to go for screening. Initially the flow was very slow. In fact, some of them registered then got cold feet and went away. Some of them came back at the last minute. When some of them get screened and they learned that they were ok, they called their friends who were not in church. Some of those friends came running because they did not want to miss the opportunity.

It was a privileged to have this opportunity to share our experiences and provide service to our brothers and sisters in this church. /p>
